RIVER RUN FARM is located in Clatskanie Oregon, about 40 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and just south of the Columbia River. Our farm is 140 acres in size. Sixty acres are bottom land with the Clatskanie River running through it.

RIVER RUN FARM has been in the Girt family for about fifty years. We returned to the farm in 1994. Concerned about the quality of beef today, we made the decision to produce beef cattle raised organically and pasture finished for added benifits. Black Angus seemed the logical choice for flavorful, quality beef. We began building our herd in 1995, and now have about fifty animals.
Our cows graze on pasture throughout the entire growing season. Excess spring pasture is harvested as hay for winter feed. Tall Fescue, white clover, and big tree foil are the predominant species with a mixture of other grasses and legumes. We use rotational grazing methods to allow optimum growth and nutrutional value of the pasture. We feed no commercially processed feed or grain to our cattle.
All of our meat is dry aged for about 21 to 28 days.
